FAQ

How does my remodeling project get started?

The first step of your remodeling project is meeting with Robert, owner of A R Crowell Plumbing and Finishing Touch Remodeling. He will come to your home to take preliminary measurements/pictures and discuss what ideas you have in mind for your space.  Robert has over 25 years of industry experience and is happy to answer any questions you have, share cost-effective ways to achieve what you want, and offer layout recommendations to make the most of your space.

What should I do before meeting with the project estimator?

Before meeting with Robert, have an idea of what you’d like to update in your space. This will help us provide an accurate quote, whether you just want to replace your tub or vanity or completely redesign the space to best fit your needs.  After meeting with Robert, he will prepare a preliminary comprehensive quote.  We thoroughly review the quote with you so that you know exactly what you are getting and, if you are comparing prices, you can make an apples-to-apples comparison.  Once an acceptable pricing plan is agreed upon and the requested deposit amount is received, we get to the fun part! Material selections!

What should I do to prepare for a meeting with a designer to go through the selection process?

Have an idea of what color scheme or style you like and send examples ahead of time, if possible. We know the selection process can be overwhelming, so we recommend creating a HOUZZ ideabook or Pinterest board, or clipping pictures out of magazines to share with us. It will give us a better idea of what you’re looking to achieve with your space. Keeping part of your bathroom or kitchen the same? Share pictures of those features with us too, so we can coordinate new fixtures with existing ones.

What is done with debris from the demo and how do you keep things tidy?

All debris from the demo and throughout the project—like product boxes—is taken back to our warehouse to be recycled or otherwise properly disposed of. Throughout your project, our team members will protect your home with drop cloths, covering the floor from where they enter your home to the area they’re working on. We also leave the room “broom clean” at the end of each day, allowing you to check on progress.

Who will be at our home during the project?

We have a trusted team of contractors that have been working with our company for many years.  Our direct employees have been with us for over twenty years.

Do I need to be home during the project?

We would prefer that you are home for the first couple of hours on the first day of work. Then you can meet the crew, go over logistical questions, and assign an entry point for the rest of the project. Please do what is easiest for you and leave us a phone number you can be reached at in case questions arise while you aren’t home.

Where are design selections made?

Most of all our customer’s selections are made locally, by appointment only, at our trusted tile, cabinetry and granite showrooms. There is an outstanding variety of materials to choose from.  On our preliminary quote, we base our complete pricing layout based upon your selection of a Level 1 choice.   Each aspect of the work, i.e., tile, cabinets, countertops, etc., have Level 1, 2, 3+ that ascend in price and will increase the quote accordingly.  We have found that there is such a huge selection of Level 1 materials that most customers are completely satisfied with that level, but rest assured the selection is completely yours!  If there’s something you like and cannot find in our showroom, our designers will go to our trusted wholesale showrooms to find the exact products you’re looking for.
